Erectile dysfunction medications seized in Glengormley

Large amounts of unlicensed medications have been taken by Department of Health authorities throughout a search of a house in Glengormley.

A male was spoken with by department officers about illegally importing and consequently providing unlicensed impotence medications through the internet.

The 47-year-old was also questioned about other .

He will now be the topic of a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

The search was carried out by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement office, Peter Moore, said: "It is important that we get the message throughout that unlicensed medicines can be dangerous.

"These types of products being offered, typically online, have gone through no quality assurance and there can be no warranty about their security.

"You simply do not understand what you are taking or the conditions these items were made in. More significantly, you do not understand the impact drugs like this may have on your health."
